Cove Creek Lower Group Camp sits along Cove Creek and the Davidson River in the hardwood forests of the Appalachian Mountains. Located in Pisgah National Forest, this group facility accommodates up to 60 people with space for tents and RVs. On-site amenities include picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and drinking water. Note that reaching the site requires a creek road crossing. Trails leading to local waterfalls depart right from the camp, and the surrounding waters offer trout fishing.
Getting there: From the Asheville airport, take Highway 280 west to the U.S. Highway 64/280/276 intersection at Pisgah National Forest. Turn north onto U.S. Highway 276. Go 4.5 miles to Forest Road 475A and turn left. Travel on 475A for 3 miles to the campground on the right.
