Situated four miles from Highlands in Nantahala National Forest, Van Hook Glade rests on rolling, heavily wooded hills at an elevation of 4,118 feet. The campground features 18 shaded sites equipped with tent pads, picnic tables, lantern posts, and fire rings with grills. On-site facilities include hot showers, flush toilets, and firewood sales. A short internal foot trail connects directly to the adjacent Cliffside Lake Recreation Area, which offers six hiking trails, a mountain lake, trout fishing, swimming areas, and picnic facilities.
