A 4.9-mile stretch of gravel National Forest road in Macon County, NC. The road serves Rockhouse Knob. The road is open seasonally, March 15 to December 31.

All 4.9 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Gravel the whole way in (4.9 miles). Climbs 410 ft over 4.9 miles -- sustained grades near 12%, with pitches to 21%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~150 ft on the downhill side. Little level ground alongside -- few of the stretches measured have a flat spot to pull onto. Winds through 12 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. A gate at the start of the road. A water crossing 4.2 miles in.
