A 4.6-mile stretch of gravel National Forest road in Macon County, NC. The road serves Rufus Morgan Waterfall. The road is open seasonally, March 15 to December 31.
All 4.6 miles in are maintained for passenger-car comfort. Gravel the whole way in (4.6 miles). Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~160 ft on the downhill side. Little level ground alongside -- few of the stretches measured have a flat spot to pull onto. Winds through 5 switchbacks. Gates 0.1, 1.4, 1.5 and 2 miles in.
