Lake Powhatan Glamping sits at 2,200 feet elevation in the Appalachian Mountains near Asheville, nestled within a dense hardwood and conifer forest. Camping consists of 12 fully furnished canvas platform tents on the upper Hardtimes Loop, equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, lantern posts, and portable power units for small electronics. The facility provides restrooms with hot showers and flush toilets, a sandy swimming beach, trout fishing on Lake Powhatan, and direct access to 44 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails.
Getting there: From Asheville, take I-26 to exit 33. Go south approximately 2 miles on State Route 191 to the Lake Powhatan Recreation Area sign. Turn right and follow signs to the campground.
