Setting
Built in 1908, the historic Bull River Guard Station is a two-story, 700-square-foot cabin near the East Fork of the Bull River in the Kootenai National Forest. The cabin sleeps up to eight people across three full beds and two single beds, featuring period furniture, a sitting room, a dining area, an electric range, and a forced-air electric furnace. Outdoor facilities include a vault toilet and a horse corral, with hitching areas nearby across the road. Drinking water is not available on-site. The cabin provides access to fishing on the Bull River and nearby trails into the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness.
Getting there: From US Highway 2 (to the north) or State Highway 200 (to the south), travel on State Highway 56 to the East Fork Bull River Road #407 at approximately the 8 mile marker.
