Big Hole Lookout is a historic 1930 Grange Hall-style log structure on a short talus foundation in the Lolo National Forest. Accessible via the 3-mile Big Hole Lookout Trail for foot, horse, or bicycle travel, the 14-by-14-foot ground-level cabin sleeps four and contains a twin bed with pad, two cots, a table, two chairs, and a wood stove. Outside, space accommodates tents or stock animals, with a vault toilet 200 feet away. A non-potable spring is 3/4 mile downhill; guests must pack in all drinking water, fuel, and supplies.
