Woods Cabin sits at 4,245 feet on the north shore of Lake Como in the Bitterroot Mountains. Built in 1928, the rustic three-bedroom cabin accommodates up to 12 people with double bunk beds, two wood stoves, and a table with chairs. It lacks electricity and running water. Outside decks overlook the 913-acre lake, where a 7-mile loop trail begins nearby. Lake Como features a sandy beach on the north shore and a boat ramp on the south shore. Parking at the cabin is limited to two vehicles, with steep driveway access that closes to vehicle traffic in winter.

Road difficulty 3 of 5 -- a rough drive in. Recorded as maintained for passenger cars, dirt, pitching to 14%, 50% of it on a shelf.

The Lake Como shoreline is 0.1 mi off. Koch Mountain stands 4,799 ft above the site, 5.9 miles west. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- one sits on the water, most of them shaded. The nearest town, Hamilton, is 14 mi off.

September normals 4173°F, 1.2″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
