Twogood Cabin sits at 5,600 feet along Porcupine Creek in a roadless section of the southern Bitterroot Mountains. Built in 1952, the 15-by-19-foot concrete-floor cabin sleeps four on two bunk beds and includes a wood stove, two-burner propane stove, lantern, counter space, and an outhouse. Porcupine Creek provides the only water source, and three hitching rails accommodate up to 12 head of stock. Access requires traveling six miles via a non-motorized trail with several creek crossings. Nearby Warm Springs Creek offers trout fishing, hiking, and winter ski trails.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Secluded here -- the nearest through road is 2.3 miles off, a single-site campground. Saddle Mountain stands 2,820 ft above the site, 4.0 miles southeast. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- 1 hike-in site, one sits on the water. Porcupine Creek runs 0.4 mi off. The nearest town, Hamilton, is 35 mi off.
