Setting
Lost Horse Guard Station is a historic Region One standard plan log cabin built in 1938 in the Bitterroot Valley's Lost Horse Creek drainage. Elevated in a glacial-carved canyon of mixed conifers, the cabin features two full-sized bunk beds, a wood-burning stove, a propane cook stove, a stone foundation, and a drive-through porch. There is no running water or trash service on site. The location offers access to the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, with the Bailey Lake Trailhead within walking distance and Twin Lakes two miles away.
