Setting
Whitetail Yurt is a 16-foot domed canvas structure with a wooden floor, locking door, and windows, located inside Whitetail Campground along the Yaak River. The yurt sleeps up to five people, equipped with a bunk bed (twin over full), a table, and four chairs, but contains no heat source. Campground amenities include a vault toilet, firewood, and potable water spigots. Situated in the Salish Mountain Range of Kootenai National Forest, the surrounding river valley offers access to fishing, floating, and hiking, with the town of Yaak five miles northeast.
Getting there: From Troy, Montana, follow Highway 2 west for 9.5 miles to Yaak Highway 508. Follow Yaak Highway 508 for 24 miles to Whitetail Campground. The yurt is in site 9. From Bonners Ferry Idaho, follow HIghway 95 north for 3.5 miles, turn right on Highway 2 and follow for 20 miles. turn left onto Yaak Highway 508 and follow for 24 miles to Whitetail Campground. The yurt is in site 9.
