Built in 1926, Upper Ford Ranger Station is a 900-square-foot historic log cabin sitting at 2,984 feet on Clark Mountain above the Yaak River. The cabin sleeps up to 10 guests across two floors using twin and queen beds plus futons. Interior amenities include a propane cookstove, heater, refrigerator, table, benches, and basic kitchenware. A vault toilet outhouse and a horse corral are located across the road. There is no electricity or drinking water. Nearby trails provide access to the Northwest Peaks Scenic Area, and the Yaak River offers trout and salmon fishing.

Getting there: From Troy, Montana, take US Highway 2 west for 9.5 miles to Yaak Highway 508. Follow Yaak Highway 508 for 30 miles north to the town of Yaak. Follow Yaak 92 approximately 7 miles to the junction with Upper Ford Road 8025, stay to the right. The cabin is approximately 300 yards from this junction and is located on the right-hand side of the road.
