Setting
Timberlane Campground is a group facility set along Pipe Creek in the conifer forests of Kootenai National Forest at 2,600 feet elevation. The site centers around a 20-by-20-foot shelter accommodating up to 100 people, equipped with picnic tables, a grill, one 15-amp electric plug, and vault toilets. On-site recreation amenities include a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a large grassy play field, and a 1-mile hiking loop around the grounds. The adjacent creek provides spots for swimming and fishing, and the town of Libby sits just a short drive away.
Getting there: From Libby, Montana, cross the Kootenai River Bridge on Highway 37, go approximatley 1 mile and turn north onto Pipe Creek Road 68, which leads to the town of Yaak and Turner Mountain Ski Area. Travel 8 miles to the gate, which is approximately 1 mile past the community of Pipe Creek.
