Rexford Bench Recreation Area sits at 2,470 feet elevation in a ponderosa pine forest on the shores of Lake Koocanusa in northwest Montana. The developed facility features 54 paved single-family campsites, accessible flush toilets, drinking water, and a campground host, though no utility hookups are provided. Amenities include high and low water boat ramps, a swimming beach, and overflow trailer parking. Visitors come to swim, boat, and fish for trout and kokanee salmon, or hike local paths like the Hoodoo Trail, which leads past distinctive sandstone formations along the reservoir.
Getting there: From Eureka, travel west on Highway 93 for about a mile, then continue 6 miles south on Highway 37.
