West Fork of Rock Creek Cabin is a two-story log structure set in a fenced pasture in the Sapphire Mountains along Skalkaho Highway 38. The site features a hand water pump, a vault toilet, picnic table, fire ring, gated entrance, large RV parking area, and a horse pasture. Inside, it offers space for six guests with electric lights, an oven, refrigerator, wood stove, baseboard heat, kitchenware, and furniture. Sitting beside the West Fork of Rock Creek near the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness, the cabin draws anglers and hikers, with cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in winter.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

Mount Emerine stands 3,280 ft above the site, 4.6 miles southwest. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. Beaver Creek runs 0.7 mi off. The nearest town, Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, is 26 mi off.

September normals 3968°F, 1.4″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
