Moose Lake Cabin is a historic 1917 Forest Service outpost set in an open meadow along the Middle Fork of Rock Creek. The primitive one-room cabin sleeps four on two bunk beds and includes a wood stove, cookstove, basic kitchenware, and a table with chairs. Outside, the property provides a hand pump for drinking water, a vault toilet, a picnic table, a fire pit, and a fenced horse pasture. The surrounding Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest offers easy access to stream fishing, dispersed camping, and three trailheads into the nearby Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
Middle Fork Rock Creek runs 0.1 mi off. Warren Peak stands 4,568 ft above the site, 6.9 miles southeast. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, is 22 mi off.
