Douglas Creek Cabin is a remote 1960s administrative shelter sitting in a grassy meadow beside Douglas Creek in the Flint Creek Range. The single-room structure sleeps four on bunk beds and includes a wood stove, table, chairs, cookstove, and basic kitchen utensils. An outhouse sits steps behind the building, and the driveway accommodates trailer parking. There is no electricity, plumbing, or drinking water on-site. The surrounding mature evergreen forest is home to big game winter ranges, with numerous alpine lakes located throughout the mountain range.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
Secluded here -- no through road within 3.7 miles, a single-site campground. Eureka Ridge stands 2,491 ft above the site, 4.1 miles south. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. South Fork Douglas Creek runs 1.1 mi off. The nearest town, Deer Lodge, is 20 mi off.
