Setting
Little Bear Cabin sits atop a grassy knoll surrounded by mixed conifers at the northern end of the Gallatin Range. Built in 1938, the structure sleeps up to four people across a downstairs bunk bed and two loft beds, all with mattresses. The interior provides a wood-burning cook stove, a dining table, chairs, and cleaning tools. Outside amenities include a campfire ring and a vault toilet outhouse. Dirt roads and trails surrounding the knoll offer space for off-road vehicles, mountain biking, and hiking. Guests must supply their own drinking water, matches, and bedding.
- Well separated here, a single-site campground with the nearest through road 1.7 miles off.
- Flat ground is scarce: under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
- Little Bear Lake lies 0.2 mi off.
- Cabins and shelters rather than pads.
