Setting
Hood Creek Campground sits at 6,700 feet elevation on the shores of Hyalite Reservoir, with sites scattered across open meadows and pine and fir groves. The facility offers single-family sites and an 80-person group area, all equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings, complemented by vault toilets, drinking water, trash collection, and an on-site boat ramp. Visitors use the ramp to access the reservoir for canoeing, boating, and trout fishing, or hike nearby routes like the Hyalite Peak Trail.
Getting there: From Main Street in Bozeman, travel south on 19th Avenue for 7 miles, to the paved Hyalite Canyon Road. Turn left and continue 10 miles to the campground.
