Basin Station Cabin is a rustic, two-room structure in an open meadow in the Upper Madison River Valley, surrounded by views of mountain peaks and evergreen forests. Sleeping up to four people, the cabin contains a double-bed platform, a set of bunk platforms with mattresses, a table with chairs, and two wood stoves for cooking and heating. Outside, guests have access to a vault toilet, but no electricity or piped water is available on-site. The cabin sits a couple of miles from the South Fork Arm of the Madison River and Hebgen Lake, where a public boat ramp is located.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

13S04E09DDDD01 Spring lies 0.1 mi off. Lionhead stands 2,963 ft above the site, 4.5 miles west. Cabins and shelters rather than pads. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, West Yellowstone, is 7.1 mi off.

September normals 3268°F, 1.3″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
