Canyon Creek Cabin is a 1930 former guard station set at 7,300 feet at the base of a sheer cliff in the eastern Pioneer Mountains. The small wood cabin sleeps four on bunk beds and contains a fold-down table, wood stove, basic tools, cookware, and a propane stove, complemented by an outdoor vault toilet. The adjacent creek offers fishing, while nearby trails lead to glacial lakes and historic mining charcoal kilns. There is no electricity or running water, and road access requires high-clearance or 4WD vehicles depending on snow.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Ore Camp Hill stands 1,192 ft above the site, 1.4 miles southeast. Cabins and shelters rather than pads. The nearest town, Butte-Silver Bow (balance), is 19 mi off.
