Setting
Chewalla Lake Recreation Area is located in the Holly Springs Ranger District of northern Mississippi, surrounding a 260-acre no-wake lake. The campground accommodates both tent and RV campers, with electric and water hookups available at the RV sites. Each campsite is furnished with a picnic table and campfire ring. On-site facilities include a boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and fishing boats, as well as a sandy beach area for swimming. Deep, fence-lined erosion gullies and dogwood trees run throughout the pine and hardwood forest setting.
Getting there: In Holly Springs, Mississippi at the intersection of State Routes 4 and 7, take Route 4 east 1.4 miles to the Chewalla Lake sign. At the sign, bear right and go 5.7 miles to the Chewalla Lake Recreation Area sign (Forest Route 611/Chewalla Lake Road). Turn left at the sign and go 1.3 miles to the campground.
