Setting
Davis Lake Recreation Area sits in a mixed hardwood and pine forest along the eastern shore of 200-acre Davis Lake, four miles from the Natchez Trace Parkway. The campground offers over two dozen campsites with electric and water hookups, picnic tables, lantern posts, campfire rings, and a dump station near the entrance. On-site features include accessible flush toilets, drinking water, a grassy swimming beach, and earthen fishing piers for catching bass and catfish. A 2-mile trail runs along the north shore, and the 12-mile Chickasaw OHV Trail is within three miles.
Getting there: From Tupelo, drive 17 miles south on the Natchez Trace Parkway to the Davis Lake Recreation Area Exit at milepost 243. Turn right on Davis Lake Road and continue 4 miles to the campground. 859 CR 124 Houlka, MS 38850
