Setting
John C. "Jack" Briscoe Group Area sits along northern Missouri's Mark Twain Lake, a large Salt River reservoir. Designed for large gatherings, the site offers six group campsites with electric hookups, paved RV parking, shaded tent zones, open grassy areas, picnic shelters, a central playground, and hot showers. Visitors primarily come to fish for bass, hunt for deer and turkey, or launch boats onto the water. Local attractions include Mark Twain State Park on the western shore, the author's birthplace in the village of Florida, and his boyhood home located 25 miles east in Hannibal.
Getting there: From Hannibal, MO, travel west on highway 36 for 17 miles, then continue south on Route J and head south 10 miles. From Perry, travel north on Rt. J for 9 miles.
