Setting
Fenske Lake Campground sits along 130-acre Fenske Lake in the Superior National Forest, roughly 10 miles outside Ely, Minnesota. Surrounded by dense hardwood and pine forests, this tent-friendly facility features widely spaced loop sites with full or partial shade, plus a separate group campsite on a elevated rock ledge overlooking the water. Amenities include a boat ramp, accessible fishing pier, grassy swimming beach, 1-mile nature trail, picnic area with an open log shelter, and water access points for exploring the nearby Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
Getting there: From Ely, Minnesota, travel east on State Highway 169 North (toward Winton) for about 1 mile. Turn left onto County Road 88 and travel about 2 miles. Turn right onto Echo Trail and continue about 7 miles to the campground entrance on the right.
