Setting
Located on the south shore of the 1,222-acre Echo Lake in Superior National Forest, this campground is shaded by a canopy of aspen, balsam, spruce, maple, and pine. The site features 22 non-electric campsites, including one group site, along with a boat ramp and a sandy swimming beach. Additional amenities include vault toilets, solar-powered drinking water, picnic tables, campfire rings, and trash service. Trails connect the campsites to the water, while nearby options include the 1.5-mile Echo Lake Trail and the 10-mile Echo Lake Hunters Walking Trail.
Getting there: From Orr, Minnesota, take St. Louis County Road 23 for 16 miles to Buyck. At Buyck, County Road 23 turns into County Road 24. Continue on County Road 24 for 4 miles to the Echo Trail. Turn right onto the Echo Trail and continue 0.8 miles to the Echo Lake Campground.
