Setting
Mosomo Point Campground sits in a quiet cove lined with mature red and white pines between Little and Big Cut Foot Sioux Lakes in Chippewa National Forest. The site features single-unit campsites equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings, served by vault toilets and hand pumps for drinking water. A public boat launch is located down the road, with a fishing pier nearby. Calmer waters allow flatwater paddling, with direct lake access to Lake Winnibigoshish and nearby trailheads for the Simpson Creek and Cut Foot Sioux National Recreation Area trails.
Getting there: From Deer River, travel north on Highway 46 for 19 miles. Turn west on Forest Road 2190 about a half-mile past the Cut Foot Sioux Visitor Center. Continue to the campground.
