Setting
Deer Lake Campground sits on the western shore of Cut Foot Sioux Lake in Chippewa National Forest and is split into two loops. North Deer Loop features 17 sites set in maple and oak forest with a large swimming beach, while South Deer Loop offers 31 sites under mature red and white pines with a smaller beach. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, hand pumps for water, and a central boat ramp providing access to the water via Biauswah Creek. The 26-mile Cut Foot Sioux Trail passes through.
Getting there: Take Highway 46 northwest from Deer River, MN. Turn on Eagle Nest Road (Old CR 33) and travel 4 miles west. You will pass East Seelye and West Seelye Campgrounds. Deer Lake Campground is on the left. North Deer is first and South Deer is another half-mile down the road.
