Setting
Rugged coastal park where the Cascade River descends dramatically to meet Lake Superior on Minnesota's rocky North Shore. The park's signature feature is a historic 535-foot overlook wall constructed from locally quarried gabbro stone, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1934 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Established as a state park in 1957 across 5,050 acres, the park connects to the Superior Hiking Trail through mixed forest and supports diverse wildlife including birds and mammals.
