Setting
Wanaki Loop is a campground loop in the Norway Beach Recreation Area on the southern shore of Cass Lake. Situated under a canopy of mature red and white pines, some campsites offer lake views near the loop's sandy beach. The facility features single-family sites alongside flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, and an internal boat ramp. Cass Lake covers nearly 16,000 acres, offering boating and fishing for walleye, pike, and muskie. Nearby land amenities include the Migizi Bike Trail, Norway Beach Trail, and the Norway Beach Visitor Center.
Getting there: From Cass Lake, Minn., take U.S. Highway 2 east for 4 miles, to the Norway Beach Recreation Area. Turn left and follow the campground road until the signs indicate the Wanaki Campground.
