Setting
Stony Point Campground sits on an open, grassy peninsula along the banks of Leech Lake in Minnesota's Chippewa National Forest, surrounded by an old-growth forest of oak, maple, elm, and ash trees over 200 years old. The campground features an on-site boat ramp and dock providing direct access to the 112,000-acre lake for fishing and boating. Facilities include campsites with 30-amp electric hookups, one walk-to tent site, drinking water, flush and vault toilets, showers, and a dump station. Regional hiking routes like the Paul Bunyan and North Country National Scenic trails pass nearby.
Getting there: From Walker, Minn., take Highway 200 east 6 miles to County Road 13. Go north 3 miles on County Road 13 to Forest Road 3793, then east 2.5 miles on FR 3793 to the campground.
