Setting
Norway Beach Loop sits in Chippewa National Forest, set 500 feet back from the sandy south shore of Cass Lake among mature red and white pines. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, supported by flush and vault toilets, showers, and drinking water. A nearby boat ramp provides access to the 16,000-acre lake for boating, water skiing, and fishing for muskie and walleye. The adjacent area features the historic CCC-built Norway Beach Visitor Center, local paved hiking and biking trails, and access to Star Island's interior trail network.
Getting there: From Cass Lake, Minnesota, take U.S. Highway 2 east for 4 miles to the Norway Beach Recreation Area. Turn left and follow the campground road until the signs indicate the Norway Loop.
