Setting
Minnesota's third-oldest state park, established in 1905, sprawls across 4,643 acres of tallgrass prairie and woods featuring Minneopa Falls, where Minneopa Creek cascades over two waterfalls with the lower drop plunging 39 feet. The campground provides 61 sites, six with electrical hookups, plus four group camps. Since 2015, visitors drive through a 330-acre fenced enclosure to observe reintroduced American bison. Historic structures dot the grounds—the 1862 Seppman Mill and rustic WPA-built facilities from the 1930s—marking Dakota heritage and settlement history.
