Rolling topography and a northern spruce-tamarack bog create diverse habitats. The park preserves Civilian Conservation Corps structures from the 1930s with historic log construction. Camping ranges from 95 drive-in sites with electric hookups to two group camps. Extensive trail systems include 15 miles of hiking, 6 miles of paved bike paths, and winter cross-country skiing.
