Setting
Petes Lake Campground sits among hardwood and conifer forests along the shore of 190-acre Petes Lake in Michigan's Hiawatha National Forest. The campground features shaded tent and RV campsites, including select sites with lake views. Each site has a picnic table and campfire ring, with grills provided at roughly half the sites. Facilities include accessible vault toilets, drinking water, a swimming beach, a fishing pier, and a day-use picnic area with tables right on the water. The nine-mile Bruno's Run Trail passes directly through the campground for hiking and mountain biking.
Getting there: From Munising, Michigan, go approximately 3 miles east on State Route 28 to Highway 13 at Wetmore. Travel south on Highway 13 about 10 miles to Forest Service Road 2173. Turn left and drive about a half-mile to the road to Petes Lake Campground.
