Setting
Sand Lake Campground sits in a mixed hardwood forest along the shore of 50-acre Sand Lake in Huron-Manistee National Forests. Campsites range from heavily shaded to open, positioned near a sandy swimming beach. On-site facilities include drinking water faucets, flush toilets, coin-operated showers, a picnic area, and a boat ramp. Visitors use the lake for swimming, powerboating, sailing, canoeing, and fishing for bluegill, perch, and smallmouth bass, with the Pine National Scenic River 15 minutes away.
Getting there: From Wellston, MI, take Seaman Road 3.9 miles south through Dublin. Just beyond the grocery store, turn right and stay on Seaman Road. Go 0.5 miles to Sand Lake Road (Forest Road 5728) and the campground sign. Turn right onto Sand Lake Road and go 0.6 miles to the campground.
