Setting
Clark Lake Day Use Area sits at the northern tip of Clark Lake just outside the 18,327-acre Sylvania Wilderness in Upper Michigan. The complex features a sandy swim beach, picnic tables, outdoor grills, and an enclosed pavilion with a fireplace and flush toilets. Nearby, Clark Lake Campground has 48 campsites across four paved loops with pressurized water, flush toilets, and a dump station. Wilderness canoe landings access Clark and Crooked Lakes. The area links to the 38-mile Wilderness Lakes bike trail, 26 miles of hiking routes, and 6.5 miles of groomed winter ski trails.
Getting there: From Watersmeet, Michigan: Travel approximately 3.5 miles west on US Highway 2 to Country Road 535. Turn left (south) onto County Road 535 and travel approximately 4 miles to the Sylvania Recreation Area entrance. From the Sylvania Recreation Area entrance, follow the signs to the Clark Lake day use area.
