Antietam Creek Campsite in MD -- Campground & RV Camping in Maryland

Antietam Creek Campground sits at Mile 69.4 on the C&O Canal Towpath, nestled in the woods between the canal and the Potomac River near Sharpsburg, Maryland. The walk-in layout contains 20 single campsites furnished with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills, with parking restricted to the shoulder of Canal Road. On-site facilities include protected pit toilets, chemical toilets, and water pumps along the towpath. Boat ramps at nearby Dargan Bend and Snyders Landing allow motorboat access to the river, while Antietam National Battlefield and Harpers Ferry are close by.

Getting there: From Hagerstown MD: Take MD-65 to Sharpsburg. Make a right on Main St. then left on Harpers Ferry Road for a few miles. Before you cross the Antietam Creek bridge, make a right on Canal Rd. Campsites are across the canal and towpath from Canal Rd. From West Virginia: Take WV-480 through Shepherdstown across the Potomac River. Make the first right after the bridge on Canal Rd. Follow Canal Rd a few miles until you see the campsites on your right before Antietam Creek.
