Buffumville Lake Park encompasses 480 acres around a 200-acre lake managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The day-use park features over 50 picnic sites with tables and grills, a 300-foot sandy beach, a reservable picnic shelter, a lifejacket loaner station, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and accessible restrooms. Water facilities include a concrete boat launch, courtesy dock, and two accessible fishing platforms. A 7.2-mile trail circles the shoreline, and an 18-hole professional disc golf course weaves through the surrounding mixed forest terrain.
Getting there: From the Massachusetts Turnpike, take the Sturbridge exit and follow Route 20 to Charlton. Turn right on Route 31 and follow the brown signs to the park. From I-290, take exit 7B to Oxford Center and follow brown signs to park
