Beaver Dam Campground sits along the north shore of 125-acre Upper Caney Lake inside the Caney Lakes Recreation Complex, part of Kisatchie National Forest. The terrain consists of pine and bald cypress woods surrounding low rolling hills and bayous. Sites include water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and space for up to eight campers. On-site amenities feature flush toilets, drinking water, a sanitary dump station, a group picnic area near Lower Caney Lake, and direct access to the 5.7-mile Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail and 2-mile Lost Man Loop for hiking and mountain biking. The lake supports swimming, boating, and fishing for bass, crappie, and catfish.

Getting there: From Minden, take Louisiana 159 north to Caney Lake Road (Webster Parish Road 111) . Turn left on Caney lake Road, continue 2 miles to recreation area entrance.
