Setting
Linton Recreation Area is a day-use facility along the shores of Lake Barkley, set among the wooded hills of southwestern Kentucky. The site features an accessible 100-guest picnic shelter, grassy fields for sports, outdoor grills, flush toilets, a playground, a boat ramp, and a designated sandy swimming beach. No campsite hookups or electric hookups are present. Nearby destinations across the lake include the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area and Fort Donelson National Battlefield.
Getting there: From Nashville take I-24 west to Cadiz, exit 65. Make a left onto Highway 68 for 8 miles to Highway 139. Make a left on Highway 139 and go 6 miles to Highway 164. Make a right on Highway 164 and the day use area is 8 miles from there.
