Setting
Minooka Park Campground is located on the south shore of Wilson Lake in the Smoky Hills region. Named after the Otoe word for "Good Earth," the park features 159 reservable campsites, a 12-site group camp area, and a 50-guest group picnic shelter. Shoreline amenities include a sand volleyball court, playground, swimming beach, boat ramp, and access to the self-guided Prairie Fire Trail. The high-salinity lake hosts stocked striped bass, walleye, and catfish, while the nearby art community of Lucas and historic town of Wilson sit just outside the reservoir area.
Getting there: From Interstate 70, north of Wilson, Kansas, take exit 199 and turn north on Dorrance Road. Continue for 7 miles and follow signs to the campground.
