Setting
Outlet Campground sits below Melvern Lake Dam at the eastern edge of the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie region. The campground contains 140 family sites, many with full electric, water, and sewer hookups, as well as two group picnic shelters and unreserved single picnic tables. Facilities include flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, a boat ramp, an accessible dock, a fish cleaning station, a swimming beach, a playground, and a year-round stocked fishing pond. The 4-mile Tallgrass Heritage Trail originates inside the campground.
Getting there: From US-75, take the Melvern exit. Turn west onto Melvern Lake Parkway and continue 1/4 mile to the cut-off road, then another 1/4-mile west to River Pond Parkway and follow into the campground.
