Richey Cove Campground sits on the shore of the 3,310-acre Council Grove Lake in eastern Kansas's grassy Flint Hills. The site features 43 reservable campsites with electric hookups, flush toilets, shaded areas, open lawns, and a group site for up to 40 people. Outdoor amenities include an on-site boat ramp for fishing crappie and saugeye, shore hiking trails like the Pioneer Nature Trail, and access to 2,700 acres of surrounding public hunting land. The town of Council Grove, two miles away, marks a historic Santa Fe Trail treaty site and serves as a trailhead for the Flint Hills Scenic Byway.

Getting there: From I-70, take Highway 177 south for 30 miles. Richey Cove entrance is located on the west side of the highway at the dam road.
