Setting
Overlook Park is a day-use and group area set in the wooded hills above Big Hill Lake. The park features three reservable group picnic shelters overlooking the water, each holding up to 100 people, alongside drinking water and flush toilets. Recreation centers on bank fishing for bass and catfish, as well as hiking the on-site interpretive trail. The facility connects directly to the 17-mile Big Hill Lake Horse Trail, which traverses the surrounding oak-hickory forests and prairie. Nearby Mound Valley Park offers a large sand swimming beach and summer educational programs.
