Setting
Slough Creek Campground is the largest facility on Perry Lake, set between dense forest canopy and the open water. The park offers 174 campsites ranging from walk-in tent spots to full electric and water hookups, plus a private group camp. On-site amenities include access to the 2.5-mile Thunder Ridge Trail and the trailhead for the 29-mile Perry Lake Loop Trail. The 12,000-acre lake is known for sailing, powerboating, and fishing for crappie and catfish. The surrounding 27,000 acres of public land provide extensive space for wildlife management and hiking.
Getting there: From Highway 24 in Perry, Kansas, take Ferguson Road north for 7 miles, then turn onto Slough Creek Road and follow signs to the campground.
