Setting
Riverside East Campground occupies 168 acres on the east bank of the Neosho River, part of the 30,000-acre John Redmond Reservoir project in eastern Kansas. The landscape features rolling agricultural hills, native tallgrasses, and low-lying woods of walnut, hickory, and oak. The facility offers 41 reservable campsites, two large picnic shelters, and access to surrounding water sports, fishing, and hunting areas. Shoreline trails run nearby, while the 140-acre Otter Creek ATV area sits at the west end of the dam. Basic services are available in nearby Burlington.
Getting there: From Burlington, Kansas, take US 75 north for about 3.5 miles, then turn west onto Embankment Road and continue for 1.5 miles and follow signs to park entrance.
