Setting
Dam Site Campground sits on 168 acres along the upstream side of John Redmond Dam in the Neosho River Valley. Surrounded by rolling hills of tallgrass prairie and hardwood timber, the park features 21 individual campsites, a shower house, vault toilets, a playground, two day-use shelters, and two boat ramps. Visitors use the site to access the 30,000-acre reservoir for fishing, hunting, and boating. Additional on-site amenities include hiking trails and proximity to the Otter Creek ATV area, which offers 140 acres of off-road trails at the west end of the dam.
Getting there: From Burlington, Kansas, take US 75 north for about 3.5 miles, then turn west onto Embankment Road and continue for .3 miles and follow signs to park entrance.
