Setting
Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area sits in a hardwood and pine forest along the shores of 131-acre Tipsaw Lake in Hoosier National Forest. Five paved loops contain individual, double, and group campsites for tents and RVs, with electric and water hookups available at select sites. Facilities include paved parking, picnic tables, campfire rings, accessible flush toilets, showers, drinking water, a boat ramp, and a sandy swimming beach with a bathhouse and changing rooms. A 5.9-mile multi-use trail loops around the lake, providing direct access for hiking and mountain biking.
Getting there: From St. Croix, Indiana, travel south on State Route 37 about 5 miles to the Tipsaw Lake sign. Turn right and continue about 3 miles to the campground. Tipsaw Lake is only 3 miles from Interstate 64.
