Setting
Situated on a small peninsula in the south-central portion of Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, this lakefront site sits along Devils Kitchen Lake. While the main campground and bathhouse are closed, the primitive group pavilion offers covered picnic tables, stand-up grills, and a nearby boat ramp set against rocky bluffs. The surrounding 44,000-acre refuge encompasses wetlands, forests, and grasslands along the Mississippi Flyway, providing access to wildlife viewing, fishing, and hiking routes like the River-to-River Trail and Rocky Bluff Trail.
